About Me

I was born in the United States, raised Mexican, and along the way discovered I had a Brazilian soul.  I have lived in Houston, Ciudad Madera, Patzcuaro, Princeton, Paris, Chicago, Belo Horizonte and Rio de Janeiro. As an anthropologist, I am fascinated with the ‘little things’ people do that make them feel at home.  When I am not writing my dissertation, I am learning about what makes Brazilians Brazilian.

Legal!

hi, i was searching about northen fruit names in brazil because i’m studying english and i discovered your blog. i am pará and i’ve never known someone who could eat cupuaçu like you. sounds funny for me, because the juice, creams, pies, cakes were the, let’s put this way, traditional ways of consuming it. but i feel happy that some things for you are so delightful here in brazil. i hope one day you can come here in pará to taste the original açaí because the one you can buy there is not the pure, delicious açaí we have here. gil

      hi Gil,
thanks for your comment. As a Brazilian-fruit aficionado, I have made it my goal to visit Pará next year. Do you have any suggestions for places I should visit?
